Hi Ray,
Its so nice to see the face of the author of books I enjoy reading. I’m almost finished reading hostage to love a killer. So well written that I get lost in it. I love books like this.
Thx Nikki
Ray
Thanks right back to you Nikki. Well, you can see *some* of my face.
Reg
Just finished Bad and Badder Ray. Loved it! What an imagination you have. I reckon you must be a wee bit bad yourself – just like the rest of us!
Ray
Thank you very much, Reg. You hit the nail on the head there. It’s all part of the fun of writing – you can be as bad as you want to be.
Joan Rockwell
The sugarmen book was very informative, well written and I’ll remember it and the horrors that our forefathers went through in years past. We should never forget the past.
Great read
Ray
Many thanks for your comment, Joan. So pleased you enjoyed it.

Hey Ray!
I recently finished Martha Hall Kelly’s LILAC GIRLS, a story based on the Rabbits of Ravensbruck concentration camp. That book brought me to your books. Looking forward to reading THE SUGAR MEN and ROSA’S GOLD. Happy I stunned across your books & website. Had to giggle when I read the reasoning behind your choice of pictures for your newsletter. Interesting. =)

correction: I wasn’t stunned to find your books. Rather, I stumbled across them. Autocorrect often has me doing the oddest of things.
Ray
Hi Mary. Thanks for dropping by.
Fingers crossed you enjoy those two books. I’ll check out LILAC GIRLS. Rabbits? That sounds an original take on a difficult subject.

Hi Ray. I am very interested to read your book The Sugar Men. I have a nook but would love to get a copy of your book. I teach at a Jewish day school and I know many of my fellow teachers would love to read your book as well. I often share good books that I have read with my fellow teachers. Historical Fiction is my preferred genre. I often write reviews for the books I read on Goodreads. My last read was Lilac Girls. If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it. That is how I heard about your book and am so happy I did. I hope to hear back from you with good news about owning your book so I can read it.
Thanks,
Marilyn
Ray
Hi Marilyn.
Thank you for your interest in The Sugar Men.
The book is currently exclusive to Amazon, so you can’t actually buy it for the nook, only the kindle or the kindle reading application for any standard tablet.
However, The Sugar Men and Rosa’s Gold will soon to be available in paperback form from Amazon – due for release on August 9th but I think you can pre-order.
I’ll check out Lilac Girls, thanks for the tip.
Best wishes,
Ray.

Ray.
Ruth Kelly

Ray
And thank you for reading my books. I really hope Rosa’s Gold lives up to your expectations.

Just finished Rosa’s Gold, couldn’t put it down, wow! what a read, keep the good work up, absolutely amazing
Richard
Ray
Thanks for the comment, Richard. And yes, I’m trying very hard to keep the next releases up to the same standard.
Delia
Just finished Rosa’s Gold. I liked the way you went from Mac’s time period to Nicole’s. Sometimes it’s difficult to follow that type of writing but I had no trouble with your book, I could visualize everything it was as if I was watching a movie . I’ve never left a comment on any of the hundreds of books I’ve read but I so enjoyed reading Rosa’s Gold that I had to comment.
Ray
Thank you for taking the time to comment, Delia. It means a lot to me.

I have just finished reading Rosa’s Gold & have found it really moving. Somehow it felt as if you had experienced life in those times. Somehow it was like a personal story of the time. I have always found the Jewish story horrendous, especially now that young people often want to pretend it dint happen I was born at the beginning of world war 2 & know everyone hoped that would be the end of war. However dreadful cruelty, war, famines etc are still going on & yet we forget & are often envious of others lives. Thank you for writing so vividly & emotionally for me. I have visited Aichvitz & that did not make me as emotionally involved as you book. I hope I can persuade my grandchildren to read Rosa’s Gold sometime so the thousands who died will never be forgotten when ou generation has gone. We owe each generation to pass on the past horrors as well as past happiness so they can make good decisions about the way they live their lives.
Sometimes it seems there is no hope for the future for future generations but we can pray for hope for them to keep hoping!!
Ray
Thanks for your comment Rosemary, it’s always nice for me when someone has a connection to the story, and I absolutely agree with your sentiments.
tana
I loved reading The Sugar Men!!! Anxious to read others you have written!
Ray
Thank you very much, Tana. Really pleased you liked The Sugar Men enough to post a comment. Hope you enjoy my other books too. Rosa’s Gold is the closest to The Sugar Men in theme and genre.
Jackie
I just finished Beyond the Shadow of Night. What a powerful book. I love history and knew a little about this. As I kept reading, and what I was reading, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to continue. I am so glad I did and I could not put the book down. I am very good at visualizing and this book was over the top. Thank you for a great read.
Ray
Hi Jackie. Glad you enjoyed Beyond the Shadow of Night so much. Yes, the idea was to write about an aspect of the war that is so seldom thought of. Thanks for your kind words.
